Claude Code x HeyGen x Remotion

Produce AI video ads at scale without opening an editor

One Claude Code conversation writes the script, builds the motion design, generates a talking head of your digital twin and exports the cut. This guide walks through the pipeline: the brief as a data file, the narration budget, the HeyGen settings, the Remotion composition, and the two details that give an AI video away in two seconds.

What you will build

This guide reproduces the pipeline behind the ad you saw: a motion-design background, a talking-head clip of a digital twin with a cloned voice, and the two composited into one vertical cut. Not a second of it was recorded, and no video editor was opened.

Everything runs from one Claude Code conversation. Claude writes the script, builds the background from a small data file, generates the avatar through the HeyGen MCP, composites both in Remotion and exports the cut. You write the brief and approve the script. That is the whole human contribution.

Three files come out of the pipeline, and each one can be checked on its own before you spend time on the next: demo.mp4 (the silent background), face.webm (the avatar, with transparency), final.mp4 (the cut). When something looks wrong, you know which of the three to reopen.

By the end you will have:

  • A brief that is a data file, so the next variant is a copy with different values
  • A narration budget that tells you, per scene, how many words the script gets, measured at 2.2 words per second on real renders
  • The HeyGen settings that make an avatar inset look native instead of pasted on
  • A Remotion composition where every placement is a prop, rendered from the terminal
  • The two details that give an AI video away in two seconds, and the fix for both

Everything here works with Claude Code, a HeyGen account and Node. Only HeyGen costs money.

Prerequisites

What you need before you start

01 · Claude Code

The whole pipeline is driven from one conversation. Any recent model works. This build used Fable 5.1.

02 · A HeyGen account

The only paid piece. The free plan watermarks the output, caps your monthly minutes and takes 9 to 10 minutes per render.

03 · Node 20+ and ffmpeg

Node runs Remotion. ffmpeg checks durations and transparency.

04 · Two minutes of yourself on camera, once

Front-facing, neutral background, good light. HeyGen turns it into the digital twin and clones the voice. You never film again.
