What you will build

I redesigned the home screen of my Nebula projector: one full-screen image, one row of apps, nothing else. Claude built it as a custom launcher and installed it on the projector from my laptop.

This guide gives you the six wallpapers I use and the exact prompts to do the same:

  • A full-screen wallpaper, with six 1920 x 1080 images to choose from and a soft crossfade between them.
  • One centered dock: a translucent glass panel with one row of your apps (Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, YouTube…).
  • Remote-first navigation: left and right along the dock, down to change the wallpaper, up to settings.
  • A reversible setup: every change is saved with its undo command, so you can go back to the stock interface at any time.

You paste the prompts, Claude Code writes the app, connects to the projector over Wi-Fi and installs it. You only approve the connection with your remote.

Prerequisites

What you need before you start

01 · A projector running Android TV or Google TV

Check under Settings > About. Other systems need different steps.

02 · A computer on the same Wi-Fi network

Mac or Windows, connected to the same network as the projector.

03 · Claude Code

Needs a paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise) or a Claude Console account.

04 · Your projector remote

To approve the connection from your computer.

Step 01

Download the wallpapers

All six are 1920 x 1080 PNGs. Open each one and save it to your computer:

  • Pinkish: a soft pink and coral sky over a dark red hillside.
  • Ocean: a still blue sea under a band of pale light.
  • Mountain: a snowy slope in warm low sun, blurred by motion.
  • Night: streaks of copper light on a near-black horizon.
  • Ireland: green hills fading into mist.
  • Scarborough: a tower on a coastal headland at sunset, blurred by motion.
Step 02

Install Claude Code

On Mac, open Terminal and paste this. When it finishes, open a new terminal window and start Claude Code inside your folder. The first time, it asks you to log in through your browser.
